Zerocity Gazetteer (Troika! setting, backgrounds and adventures)
A downloadable excursion
A setting comprising a location (Zerocity), 5 backgrounds, and two complete adventures, Nectar for the Sigilant and Crystals of Doom, compatible with the Troika! RPG (56 lusciously-illustrated pages, yours for free if you want).
From the intro:
"Arguably The Country's most dynamic and thrilling industrial metropolis, Zerocity is also one of the most surprising. Each day, new buildings spawn in the ever-mutating landscape, nestling in a skyline of oblique palaces and historic buildings such as The Nest, The Brain Dawn Clock, and The White Cage.
"Crumbling and desiccated it may be, but the city has style and survival instinct. Here, in 'the city that never breathes', you'll encounter so many dangerous and incomprehensible occurrences that you're likely to return with your life in tatters!"
What are the adventures like, eh?
"In Nectar for the Sigilant, the adventurers are coerced into investigating depletion of the supply of Sigilant Gruber's favourite drink, nectar. During their exploration of the eerie, biege Abyss, they may encounter: a suicidal lamia; a glowing lion-headed sunbeast; impatient hymenopteran traders; ancestor-worshipping dreamers; serene plexiglass giraffe beasts; peculiar cybernetic castles; and (if they are unlucky) a living prison."
"In Crystals of Doom, the adventurers must navigate through a chaotic dungeon accidentally inserted into the Stairport, Luton's transport nexus. To reach the fabled town of Luton, they must face hideously-transformed airport staff, a giant zombie hamster, a kitten sphinx, predatory flowers, a slimy wizard and a mysterious globe, amongst other horrors."
They've got maps and everything. I even played them with friends and family to make sure they sort of work. They were quite baffled but survived.
